
ENFIELD, CT — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Tornado Warning for northwestern Hartford and Tolland counties, as well as south-central Hampden County in western Massachusetts. The warning was effective for about 30 minutes, beginning around 5 p.m.
At 4:52 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Granby, or 7 miles southwest of Agawam, moving east at 30 mph, the NWS said.
A lightning strike apparently caused a fire near Farm Credit East on South Road in Enfield.

The NWS advised residents to take cover immediately.
