Town Hall Open to the Public

Town Hall has reopened to the public! Masks continue to be required and social distancing guidelines are being followed.
The Tax and Assessors Office has moved to the Enfield Express, located at 800 Enfield Street! This move is part of the greater building consolidation plan that was implemented in January of 2021. Town Clerk
JUNE IS DOG LICENSING MONTH! Current dog licenses expire on June 30, 2021. Dog licensing is available starting on June 1, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM. Renewal and new licenses can be purchased anytime during the month of June by one of the following ways:
• DROPBOX - Available all hours, located outside Town Hall (820 Enfield St.) in back parking lot
• DRIVE-THRU - During the month of June only. Enfield Express, 800 Enfield St.
• MAIL - Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with 70 cents postage
** CURRENT VACCINATION RECORD MUST BE ON FILE IN ORDER TO LICENSE**
If your dog received a new rabies vaccination or was spayed or neutered during the past license year, please provide that documentation. All documentation will be returned to you. Call 860-253-6436 or email townclerk@enfield.org with any questions or to notify us that you have moved or no longer have your dog.
Social Services
The Family Resource Center’s Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will be meeting in- person outdoors at our Stowe site on Monday May 10 and Monday June 7th from 5-6 PM. Childcare will be provided along with dinner-to-go. New members are always welcome. Please contact the FRC Social Worker Heather Benyak at hbenyak@enfield.org or 860-253-5214 for more information.
Annex COVID-19 Clinic
The Town has partnered with Johnson Memorial Hospital, a member of Trinity Health of New England, to open a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the gymnasium of the Enfield Annex, the former Enrico Fermi High School. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (closed for lunch from 11:45 to 12:45 PM). The clinic will be open for limited walk-in availability, as supply allows, through May 28th. Library
In person Rhyme Time for kids ages birth to 2 is back at the Enfield Public Library! Beginning Monday, May 17th at 10:30 AM, Rhyme Time will be held on the front lawn of the library. Music and nursery rhymes ignites all areas of child development and skills including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. We ask that participants bring a blanket to sit on. Masks and social distancing required. If inclement weather, Rhyme Time will be virtually via Facebook live! Our Virtual Storytime contain stories, songs and dancing designed for the audience.
Take & Make Craft: Use the kit provided to make a masterpiece! Kids ages 2-5 can paint by dot animals simply using water and a paint brush and kids ages 6-12 can watercolor by numbers. Kits can be picked up curbside at the Enfield Public Library on Wednesday, May 12th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM and at the Pearl St. Library from 1 PM to 2 PM. There is no need to register in advance. Supplies are limited. This craft is sponsored by the Enfield Culture and Arts Commission.
Book Discussions:
These titles are available in eBook format. When possible, we will also have physical copies that can be picked up at the Central Library circulation desk.
Concerts:
On Wednesday, May 19th at 6:30 PM, Cameron Sutphin will perform on the lawn at the Central Library. Cameron Sutphin is an Americana singer/guitar player, in 2017 as a solo act, he released his debut Nashville Recorded C.D. Heartbreak Town. Since its release, the C.D. has been in rotation on the Jukebox at J.R.'s Café in East Windsor Connecticut, as well as several local folk radio stations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In addition to this, he has appeared on the Blue Plate Special live audience radio program in Knoxville, TN and has had the privilege of performing at The Big E for the past two years. Cameron performs original material and classic country and folk cover songs such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Neil Young, and many others (Rain Date May 20 at 6:30 PM).
Senior Center
The Governor is lifting all restrictions except for wearing a mask indoors on May 19th! What that means for the Senior Center:
Cards, Mahjong & Dominoes:
The Senior Center will once again host these activities starting Wednesday, May 19th. The May schedule will be available on our website, Facebook page or for pick-up at the Senior Center on Monday, May 10. Room assignments and times will be based on current programming availability. A new schedule for June will be announced in the June newsletter which will be emailed out on Friday, May 14.

Special Events:
Recreation
The Recreation Division is gearing up for a host of in-person programming this summer! Information for a variety of camps, clinics, classes and program are now online at www.enfield-ct.gov/recreation.
Dolphins Swim Team: This program is for youth ages 5-18 years old as of December 31, 2021. The focus of the program is on improving strokes and times while having fun and being part of a team. A limited number of spots are available for this program. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you register early to ensure a spot in the program. Participation in previous seasons does not guarantee a spot. New Swimmers to the team must be evaluated before they can register. Email Dolphins@enfield.org to set up an evaluation appointment.
“Virtual” Youth Fishing Derby: This program is open to Enfield youth ages 15 years and younger. To participate, catch a fish in any body of water where fishing is permitted, submit a photo of the participant and their catch via email to bfairman@enfield.org and include the child’s full name, age, phone number and home address. Only one entry will be accepted per participant. All entries will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a fun prize! The Derby will run from April 9 – May 17, 2021 and all entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on 5/17/21.
Camp TONS-O-FUN Summer Care: Summer Care is a great opportunity to meet new friends, develop respect, build self-esteem, and participate in activities in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere. Activities include sports and group games, theme weeks, arts and crafts, free play and more! The program is offered for Enfield youth entering grades 1-9 in September 2021 and is held at the Enfield Annex. Offered in one-week sessions from Monday, June 28 through Friday, August 13, 2021, 8 AM – 4 PM. Spaces are limited and registration is currently underway. This program is for Enfield residents only.
