ENFIELD, CT — Historically, November and December are boom months at the Enfield Public Libraries with the Food For Fines program, in which a patron's fines for overdue books, CDs or DVDs is waived upon donation of non-perishable food items or paper products for the Enfield Food Shelf. However, the Food for Fines program is suspended this year, since fines are not being charged due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Many members of the community are still in need, so beginning Nov. 1 and continuing through December, food items and personal hygiene products will be collected at the libraries. Bins will be available in the lobbies of both the Central and Pearl Street Libraries for donations.

Anyone with questions may call the library at 860-763-7553 or 7512. For information on other library events, visit www.enfieldpubliclibrary.org.
