Unique Video Released From Enfield-Raised Singer/Songwriter
On Mother's Day weekend, a hand-drawn video for "Welcome to the World" was released, celebrating the joy of the birth of a baby girl.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Enfield-raised singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski is certainly a proud aunt, and a song she wrote celebrating the birth of her niece received a unique added touch over Mother's Day weekend, with the release of a hand-drawn time lapse video by Hudson Valley illustrator Julia Green. Exclusively premiered via BabyTalkTV, the special music video for "Welcome to the World" captures Green’s whimsical drawings of scenes described in the song.
"I wrote this song for my niece, Charlotte, when she was born, but I quickly realized that I am not at all alone in feeling the magic and wonder we all feel when we behold a brand new life, especially a baby girl!" Kubinski said.

Originally released in Oct. 2019 as part of Kubinski's EP, "Dreams," co-written and co-produced by Tony Daniels, "Welcome to the World" features a percussion section built by tapping the back of a guitar, punctuated by toy piano, real piano, gentle guitars and Kubinski's layered, soothing vocals welcoming a new baby to the world.
The song continues the pattern of whimsical, earthy graphics accompanying Daniels’ quirky pop productions, as the EP's title track was released as a single, accompanied by a lyric video entirely hand-drawn in chalk.

While in middle school at age 13, Kubinski starred in a production of "Annie" at the fabled Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam. After graduating as valedictorian of the Enfield High School Class of 2001, she earned a B.A. in Theatre at Florida State University, and has been active in music, theatre, television and film since then. She has acted opposite Michael J. Fox, co-written song lyrics with Billy Joel and recorded with the Goo Goo Dolls. In 2017, her EP "Holiday Magic," featuring three original songs and three unique remakes of holiday classics, reached No. 46 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
Social causes have long been at the forefront of Kubinski's musical efforts. A single from "Dreams" entitled "You Get Me" has become a poster song for pet rescue and adoption, helping raise over $25,000 through sales and events for groups such as the Humane Society of New York, Helping Lost Pets, Howl of a Dog, and It's A Ruff Life Rescue. She previously experienced considerable success with "Not So Different," an autism anthem written at the request of a friend with two sons on the spectrum. She subsequently re-recorded and released the song with the Goo Goo Dolls and Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs, with sales supporting the Institute for Autism Research at Canisius College. The launch concert for the song raised $30,000 for the Institute in Buffalo, N.Y.
