On Saturday, December 7th three Glastonbury Main Street Churches will all be hosting Christmas events: First Church, South Church, and St. Luke’s. Visitors who want to get a jump on their holiday shopping and attend all 3, can fill out a Christmas Passport, get it punched at each church, and turn it in for a chance at a unique gift. Each church will select one lucky shopper to receive it.

St. Luke’s Church, (915 Main Street, South Glastonbury), Christmas Festival will run from 9am to 2pm, continuing a tradition that dates back more than 50 years. The highlight of the festival is always the amazing assortment of holiday greens lovingly arranged by dedicated and talented parishioners. Baked goods packaged for tasty gift giving, a Unique Boutique with gently used houseware items, Retro Jewelry, a Christmas Emporium with ornaments and decorations, Hand Made Crafts, and a Silent Auction where you can bid on wonderful gifts to please yourself or those on your shopping list add to this exciting Christmas Festival. You can join us in the café for tea or coffee with a pastry in the morning or have a homemade lunch in the afternoon.

First Church United Church of Christ (2183 Main Street), annual Cookie Walk and Christmas Bazaar and will run from 9am to 11am. This morning’s highlight is the opportunity to purchase a variety of homemade cookies and baked goods. As one tray of cookies is sold, a new one is brought out! Also for sale are: Butterbraids, hand crafted wood items, fresh evergreen wreaths, dog bone wreaths, handmade quilt, table runs and hand towels, First Church Choir CDs and items offered for sale by SERRV. SERRV is a non-profit that promotes the social and economic progress of people in developing regions of the world by purchasing and marketing their handcrafts in a just and direct manner. The children’s choirs perform at 9:15.

Congregational Church in South Glastonbury, (949 Main Street, South Glastonbury) will host their Annual Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair from 9am to 2pm. There will be a large and varied selection of goodies for your shopping pleasure from greeting cards to painted signs to gift baskets to jewelry. Come get a cup of coffee, say hello to your neighbors and get that holiday shopping done!
