Crews extinguished the fire in the basement of a home on Friday morning, according to officials.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Crews extinguished a Christmas tree fire Friday morning in Glastonbury, according to officials.

Officials said a Christmas tree caught fire in the basement of a home on Old Maids Lane on Friday morning. Companies 2, 3 and 1 responded to the home at 8:50 a.m., according to fire officials.

Everyone made it out of the home safely, according to NBC Connecticut.

Police told WFSB 3 that the quick actions of a woman in the home prevented the fire from becoming serious.
