Colgate University, Hamilton NY

  • Mara Cosentino, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2020, has earned the fall 2019 Dean's Award with Distinction. Cosentino is a graduate of Glastonbury High School. Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the fall 2019 semester earn the Dean's Award with Distinction.
  • Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade earn the fall 2019 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence. Recent honorees from Glastonbury were Michael Hawkins and Harris Goodin.

  • Eastern Connecticut State University inducted 31 students into the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) national honor society on March 1. Among the inductees were Glastonbury residents Meaghan Labas, a senior who majors in Pre-Elementary Education and Liberal Studies, and Evelyn Senna, a senior who majors in Psychology. Established at Eastern in 1994, ODK is a national leadership honor society that recognizes juniors and seniors who demonstrate remarkable leadership responsibility in campus programs and extracurricular activities. To be eligible, students must also have a minimum GPA of 3.77 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eastern Connecticut State University recently inducted 30 psychology students into Psi Chi, the international honors society for psychology. Students are invited into the society if they are a declared major or minor in psychology, have at least 12 credits of psychology coursework and a GPA of 3.5 or higher in psychology and an overall GPA of 3.0. Among the recent inductees was Evelyn Senna of Glastonbury, a senior who majors in Psychology.
  • The Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors baseball team was off to a 4-1 start in its 2020 season of play before the NCAA cancelled all college sports through the end of the school year due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. Nonetheless, 39 student athletes made the team, which was vying for another competitive season in the Little East Conference (LEC).
    Among the scholar athletes is senior Ryan Bagdasarian of Glastonbury, number 11, who plays outfield and majors in Business Administration.

Emerson College, Boston MA

  • Katherine Obedzinski of Glastonbury has been named to the Emerson College Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester. Obedzinski is majoring in Media Studies and is a member of the class of 2019. The requirement to make Emerson's Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

  • Two students from Glastonbury have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the fall 2019 semester at St. Lawrence University. They are Kylie Clancy, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in psychology and anthropology, and Jack Twardy, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in history and business in the liberal arts.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

  • Three students from Glastonbury were named to the fall 2019 Dean's List at Stonehill College. They are Nathan Amaral, Class of 2021; Connor Williams, Class of 2021; and Marissa Piteo, Class of 2023. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

University of Connecticut, Storrs CT

  • Jameson Corey of Glastonbury was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Corey is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.
