The CT River Valley Chamber to Hold ‘Duck Race’ on May 18

On May 18th, at 11 AM the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold their first ever 'Duck Race,' event.

On May 18th, at 11 AM the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold their first ever ‘Duck Race,’ event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the CRVCC Scholarship Fund.

The race will begin at the Hockanum River (Walnut Street Bridge) starting line, where 3,000 numbered rubber bath-toy style ducks will be released on a 900ft downstream race to the finish line at Labor Field Park. Participants may purchase raffle tickets corresponding to duck numbers. The first five ducks win:

1st Place - $5,000

2nd Place - $1,000

3rd Place - $250

4th Place - $250

5th Place - $250

Bumpers will be placed temporarily in the river to ensure a fair race. Upon reaching the finishing line, volunteers will retrieve all of the ‘athletes.’

Raffle tickets are currently on sale. $10 (per duck) tickets can be purchased from the Chamber's Glastonbury office (2400 Main St.), from participating vendors, or Chamber Ambassadors & Board Members.

Race takes place rain or shine. Raffle ticket holders do not have to be present to win. Must be 18 or older to purchase a raffle ticket. Please visit crvchamber.org for more information.
