DEEP: CT River Fishing Should be Good for Labor Day Weekend
North Central Connecticut is predicted to be a hotspot for fishing over the Labor Day weekend.

GLASTONBURY, CT — North Central Connecticut is predicted to be a hotspot for angling over the Labor Day weekend, according to the latest Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection fishing report.
On the Connecticut River in Glastonbury, fishing for channel and white catfish has been "good," especially when using 3-icn sections of ell as bait, according to the report.
Some reports from the Enfield area also indicate good catfish action, according to the report.

Speaking of Enfield, Connecticut River flows are "well above typical late August levels" north of Hartford and are currently at 10,800 cubic feet per second in Thompsonville, making the river "easily boatable and fishable," according to the report.
Largemouth bass fishing has been "on and off" in the area with the side channels and coves providing some action, according to the DEEP.

Smallmouth bass fishing in the Windsor-Enfield area has been a bit tough with the higher flows, the report indicates.
Some action for smaller carp has been reported from Enfield, according to the report.
