Details Released On Fatal Weekend Crash In Glastonbury

State police on Monday released details of a fatal weekend crash on Route 2.

GLASTONBURY, CT — State police on Monday released details of a harrowing weekend crash on Route 2 that claimed the life of a 38-year-old driver.

The crash took place at 7 a.m. Saturday, according to a report.

A 2005 Chrysler Pacifica sport utility vehicle driven by Gregory Lamourine Jr., 38, whose listed address is in Enfield, was headed east on Route 2, just prior to Exit 12, when it veered into the left shoulder and hit a metal guardrail, according to a report.

The vehicle then caromed off the guardrail, careened across the roadway, and crashed into a copse of trees near the right shoulder, according to a report.

Lamourine was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report.

According to the Connecticut Deptartment of Transportation, Route 2 was closed between Exits 10 and 12 for about five hours.

The Enfield address on the arrest report designated Lamourine's address as 285 Shaker Road, the street location of the Carl Robinson Correctional Institution. Judicial system records show, he is currently on probation in cases out of New London. State police arrest records show that a Gregory A. Lamourine of the same age was charged on July 2 with violating probation. He is shown with a Niantic address on that report.

State police said they are still investigating the crash and witnesses are being asked to call 860-534-1000.
