'Fake' Call To Glastonbury Cops Leads To Warrant Arrest

A fake call to Glastonbury police about someone wanting to harm himself has resulted in charges, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Hartford man was accused of making a false report in Glastonbury after using a fake name and telling police that someone was about to harm himself, according to a report.

Glastonbury police on April 17 arrested 27-year-old Eric Baldwin via a warrant in connection with the February call, according to a report.

Baldwin is accused of calling the police department and posing as someone else while reporting that another person had made statements about harming himself, according to a report.

An investigation revealed that "no such statements were made" and that Baldwin was using an assumed name, police said.

Baldwin was released on a $20,000 surety bond after being charged with second-degree making a false statement and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court May 20, police said.
