Fishing Derby for Glastonbury Youngsters Is This Weekend

The Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department will host its 31st Annual Fishing Derby.

The Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department will host its 31st Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 18.

The derby will be held for children who are 4 to 15 years of age from 8 to 10 a.m. at J.B. Williams Pond.

Raffled prizes will be given away every 15 minutes and ribbons for the four age categories for Biggest, Smallest, First Caught and Most Caught. There will be no restrictions on bait. No physical parental assistance will be allowed except for baiting and casting.

Free coffee, hot chocolate, doughnuts and bagels will be served. Pre-registration isn’t necessary.
