Glastonbury Obituary: Mark Kinne, 61

He was a star swimmer in high school and college, later becoming known as Coach Mark with the Glastonbury Recreational Swim Team.

Sadly, Mark T. Kinne passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 after a long hard battle that he fought bravely against cancer.

He was born on July 30, 1957 to loving parents Rosalyn (Murphy) Kinne and the late James T. Kinne, and lived a fulfilling life growing up on the farm. He was a star swimmer both in high school and college at UVM, which motivated his most rewarding and final career as Coach Mark with the Glastonbury Recreational Swim Team. He mentored and guided many youths in their swimming education.

He is survived by his three daughters Julia T. Kinne, Laura H. Kinne-Giles and Sarah E. Kinne, as well as his four adored grandchildren Rowan Kinne Grey, Mallory Giles, Nathan Giles and Leila Kinne, his mother Rosalyn Kinne, sister Alison Schneider and brother-in-law Robert Schneider; His two nephews Robert J. Schneider and Brian Schneider, and many other aunts and uncles, cousins and loving family. He was predeceased by his father James T. Kinne.

He leaves a legacy of love, laughter and tenacity and a passion for life. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him and touched the lives of countless people.

His memorial and celebration of life will be on Saturday February 16, 2019 at South Congregational Church in South Glastonbury, located at 949 Main Street, at 11:00 AM. This will be followed by a gathering of friends and family afterwards at the church upstairs. There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mark's memory can be made to the GSPO (Glastonbury Swim Parents Organization) to KM Mello, 28 Trymbulak Lane, Glastonbury CT 06033.
