Glastonbury Roundabout Project 'Transitioning' into Phase 2
The Glastonbury roundabout and paving project is "transitioning" into its second phase.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Hebron Avenue roundabout and paving project is "transitioning" into its second phase, Glastonbury officials said Monday.
The roundabout is located between Main Street and New London Turnpike and is "substantially complete," officials said. The remaining work consists of pavement milling between the westerly crosswalk and Main Street, a "top course asphalt application" over the entire area and "decorative snow-shelf and channelization island treatments," officials said.
"At this time, the town does not have a definitive time frame for completion, as it’s subject to contractor scheduling," town officials said in statement released Monday. "Workers completing these remaining tasks are subcontractors to the general contractor and, with the busy time of year and relatively small scale project, the Town is somewhat reliant upon their schedule."

Phase 2 work will mostly take place at the northeast corner of the House Street-Hebron Avenue intersection. Work will include constructing a retaining wall and portions of the traffic islands, fabricating a center truck apron, and installing granite curbing along the gutter line.
A new drainage system is required because of realignment, officials said.

During Phase 2, two-way traffic will be maintained on Hebron Avenue, officials said.
On House Street, traffic will be limited to one-way, in the northerly direction, officials said.
Officials said they are "confident" the project will "continue on schedule," meaning it should be done by early November.
