Glastonbury VFW Hosting Halloween-Themed Collection Event for Troops

Who says our troops serving overseas can’t celebrate Halloween?

The VFW Post 7659 and its Ladies’ Auxiliary are hosting a Halloween-themed collection and packing event to support troops currently serving overseas. The event will be collected at the South Congregational Church, 1301 Forbes St., East Hartford, on Oct. 20 from noon to 1 p.m. The packing should be finished by approximately 2:30 p.m.

The VFW is looking for Halloween items, candy, pillowcases and Halloween and autumnal cards. They have already received cases of Girl Scout cookies.  All the items will be packaged and sent to troops overseas.

The VFW is also in need of monetary donations to help cover the cost of mailing the packages. Checks should be sent to:
