Hebron Native Performs in "She Kills Monsters"

Hebron native, Adrianna Simmons, performs in Connecticut Repertory Theatre's production of "She Kills Monsters"

STORRS. Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) stages its second Studio Theatre production of the 2017-18 season with "She Kills Monsters" by Qui Nguyen. Madeline Sayet will direct. Performances will be held in the Studio Theatre from March 22-31, 2018. For tickets and information, please visitcrt.uconn.edu or call (860) 486-2113.

Simmons says, "Working on "She Kills Monsters" has been a very unique experience, where different realities are constantly colliding and competing. The worlds of puppetry and live-action, reality and fantasy, what we dream and what is mundane melt together to create a thrilling experience to live in. Through this show, I've come to realize that the worlds we all exist in don't need to compete for what is "real"; it is what we hold to be true in our hearts that guides us the most in the end. I am honored by the challenge of bringing this story to audiences."

She Kills Monsters finds a perfect balance between comedy and adventure and themes of death and loss, while appealing to the geek in us all. After losing her little sister, Tilly, in a car accident, Agnes attempts to get to know her better through the Dungeons and Dragons notebook she left behind. Immersed in a fantastic adventure full of monsters, homicidal fairies and elves, and 90s pop culture, Agnes learns more about her sister and the misunderstood gaming world she was a part of before she was abruptly taken away.
