Man Accused Of Selling Cocaine In Glastonbury: Police

The East Central Narcotics Task Force investigated a report of a drug dealer operating in the area of Glastonbury, according to officials.

GLASTONBURY, CT — An East Hartford man is accused of selling crack cocaine in Glastonbury, according to police. The East Central Narcotics Task Force received information this month about a crack cocaine and fentanyl dealer operating in the area of Glastonbury, police said.

The task force initiated a “controlled buy operation” targeting the suspect, who was later identified as Joshua Heard, 25, of East Hartford, according to police. Heard was arrested July 21 in a residential neighborhood in Glastonbury and was found to be in the possession of about 31 grams (over 1 ounce) of crack cocaine, police said.

Heard was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of more than ½ ounce of cocaine with intent to sell and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Heard also had two outstanding arrest warrants and was charged with sale of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance. Each warrant held a court-set bond of $50,000, according to police.

“The East Central Narcotics Taskforce, in cooperation with other municipal and federal law enforcement agencies, is interested in stopping illegal narcotics sales and use in the Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon and Glastonbury communities,” officials wrote in a news release. “Anyone with information pertaining to any illicit drug activity is asked to contact the East Central Narcotics Taskforce at (860) 645-5548. All calls will remain confidential.”
