Opening Date Set for Glastonbury Chick-fil-A

A opening date for Glastonbury's Chick-fil-A restaurant has been announced.

GLASTONBURY, CT – Glastonbury's new Chick-fil-A restaurant is scheduled to open July 26, officials from the chain said Thursday.

The Chick-fil-A will be a stand-alone structure at 2941 Main St. A slate of grand opening activities will be announced soon, officials said.

New England native Jordan Snook has been named franchise owner. Glastonbury's 4,800-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant will include drive-through service featuring two ordering lanes merging into a single lane for pickup as well as dining room seating for 84 and patio seating for 12.

The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., offering a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A restaurants have been closed on Sundays since 1946 in a practice established by its founder, Truett Cathy, to allow employees "a day of rest and worship."

When it opens, it will be the second Connecticut Chick-fil-A restaurant to open this year, following the chain's Southington location that opened in January.

Chain officials said the franchise is hiring about 100 full-time and part-time positions in all areas of the restaurant, including "leadership development, hospitality, catering, training and marketing." Each position will include benefits like scholarships for continuing education, officials said.
