Popular Chicken Restaurant Expanding To Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT — A restautant known for its rotisserie chicken with a bit of a flair is coming to Glastonbury.

The owners of El Pollo Guapo said this week that plans are under way for a third location — in Glastonbury at 345 New London Turnpike at the site of the old Gideon's BBQ Smokehouse. That's in the One Stop Plaza.

The Glastonbury spot will feature 40 to 45 seats and will serve beer and wine.

The owners said the Glastonbury location likely fall somewhere beyween El Pollo Guapo’s original location on the Berlin Turnpike in Wethersfield with limited seating and a much larger layout in Hartford on Front Street.

It's expected to be a popular takeout eatery as well, owners said.
