Possibly Perfect Fall Season Predicted for Connecticut

Fall colors will be on full display in October.

Connecticut could see a perfect array of fall colors this season, provided the rain stays away, the New Haven Register reported.

Chief scientist of Forestry and Horticulture for the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station told the Register that there had been just enough rainfall to keep the leaves healthy.

Ward warned that a “multiday rain event” or a steady drizzle could change the color palette draining out the colors.

So far the season is right on schedule in the state. According to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection the peak season for foliage will be between Oct. 5 and Nov. 13.

The DEEP has a detailed guide for “Leaf Peepers” with nine state parks that have viewing towers and lookouts for the foliage. The DEEP also has a list of seven scenic driving routes for looking at the foliage.

Fall foliage driving tours are also available in Connecticut.
