Sounds of Persia: Traditional Iranian music for santur & strings.

Dariush Saghafi, world's master of the Persian instrument "santur" comes to Connecticut with Iranian composer Reza Vali.

The resident musicians of Cuatro Puntos, a Connecticut organization dedicated to intercultural dialogue through music, will be joined by Persian Santur master Dariush Saghafi and composer Reza Vali. They will present a concert on Sunday, April 14 at 4:00pm at Enfield Congregational Church, 1295 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT.

Get lost in a soundscape foreign from Western musical traditions as Dr. Saghafi performs a traditional improvised solo on santur, then hear two traditions merge as the Cuatro Puntos Resident Musicians (a string quartet) and Dr. Saghafi perform Dr. Vali's compositions based on traditional Persian music. The concert is free of charge, however a $10 suggested donation is appreciated.

The program will also be presented in Hartford at Christ Church Cathedral on Thursday, April 11 at 7:00pm, and in Glastonbury at the Lutheran Church of St. Mark on Friday, April 12 at 7:00pm.
