State Trooper Delivers Christmas Eve Baby on Route 2
The trooper went the extra mile giving a family a very special Christmas gift.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Connecticut State Trooper went the extra mile on Christmas Eve, delivering a baby on Route 2 in Glastonbury.
The baby boy was born around 9:15 a.m. and soon afterwards the mother and child were resting at St. Francis Hospital.
Itohan Oyabure-Okafur was being driven to the hospital by her brother, Chris Broderick, when she realized they did not have time to get the hospital as the baby was ready to be out in the world. According to a report in the Hartford Courant, Trooper First Class Greg Capps has just pulled into the breakdown lane when dispatch informed him that a car with a woman in labor had pulled in near Exit 5D.

Capps told the paper he barely had time to put on a pair of latex gloves before the baby was born. A father of three, Capps' said his training from the child-birthing classes he teaches just kicked in.
Capps even went to the hospital soon after delivering the baby to meet the little guy.
