Teen Charged In Glastonbury Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash
A 17-year-old is facing a negligent homicide charge in connection with a pedestrian crash in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A 17-year-old girl has been charged with negligent homicide in connection with a January fatal accident involving a elderly pedestrian in Glastonbury, police said.
The girl surrendered to authorities on March 17 and police released a report on the charges Thursday.
In addition to negligent homicide, the girl was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive upon right, according to a report.

The crash took place at 12:05 p.m. on Jan. 23 along the 400 block of Griswold Street. Valda Dienavs, 84, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. According to a report, she was retrieving mail from her roadside mailbox, was hit, and the driver of the left the scene.
The girl was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 22, police said.
