ART CONTEST OPEN TO ALL: “RACIAL JUSTICE & EQUITY IN GLASTONBURY, THROUGH YOUR PERSPECTIVE”
Glastonbury, Connecticut (May 29, 2021): The Glastonbury Commission on Racial Justice and Equity (RJEC) has launched an art contest to bring awareness to the issues of racial justice and equity in Glastonbury. The contest is open to people of all ages who have a connection to Glastonbury, whether or not they are a resident.

The topic for the contest is “Racial Justice & Equity in Glastonbury, through your perspective.” Submissions can be in any media including, but not limited to: photography, painting, drawing, etc.
Entries are due by June 30, 2021. Members of the RJEC will select winners in three age categories: 10 and under, 11-17, and 18 and over. Winners will be announced on July 4, 2021 on the RJEC website at www.glastonburyrjec.wordpress.com.
Hoping to receive many entries representing diverse backgrounds and perspectives, the RJEC encourages all members of the community to enter the contest by tapping into their creativity and their care for ensuring Glastonbury is welcoming, inclusive, and equitable.
The RJEC plans to honor the winners and showcase other top entries through its website, publications, social media accounts to be launched soon, and a possible art show in the coming months.
