The first installment of Real Estate and Personal Property taxes for the Town of Glastonbury with the assessment date of October 1, 2020 became due July 1, 2021. All taxes under $100.00 are payable in a single installment and became due July 1, 2021 and payable by August 2, 2021.
The total Motor Vehicle tax became due July 1, 2021 and payable by August 2, 2021. Delinquent motor vehicle taxes must be paid only in Cash, Money Order or Cashier’s Check if a release is needed for the Department of Motor Vehicles. There will be a $3.00 fee charged for each delinquent Motor Vehicle account.

Taxes become delinquent on August 3, 2021 and are subject to interest at the rate of 18% annum, 1 1/2% per month or any fraction of a month, from the due date. A minimum of $2.00 interest will be charged for each delinquent tax bill and installment. No separate mailing will be sent for the second half installment.
Glastonbury offers the following secure, convenient methods for paying your Tax:
Online: Visit www.glastonbury-ct.gov/taxpmt to pay your bill, view your balance and more. Applicable service fees: ACH (checking account) for tax = $0.95 Debit/Credit Card payment for tax = 2.95%
People’s United Bank Branches:
Visit any branch in the month of July to process your Tax bill. Any tax bill WITHOUT a “Back Tax” message on it may be presented to a People’s United Bank teller for payment by cash or check. You do not need to be a bank customer. A receipt will be provided and payment will be posted to your account in the Revenue Collection office the next business day.
Drop Boxes: Deposit check payments only (no cash accepted) at the Drop Boxes at Town Hall – one is located on the left-hand side of the driveway, (past the flagpoles) and the other is on the exterior wall to the right of the main entrance. Payments are collected Monday-Friday for processing.
Revenue Collection Office (lower level of Town Hall): Open to collect cash and check payments Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Checks which have been returned by the bank shall be subject to a fifteen ($15.00) handling fee.
Taxpayers who have not received a bill should visit our website at www.glastonbury-ct.gov/taxpmt or contact the Revenue Collector’s Office at 860-652-7614. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the charge and respective penalties should the account become delinquent.
