Victim In Glastonbury Fatal Fire Identified

Authorities in Glastonbury have identified the victim in Friday's fatal fire.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Authorities in Glastonbury have identified the victim in Friday's fatal fire at an apartment complex.

The fire broke out at 8:32 p.m. at 21 Salem Court, according to a report.

The fire was extinguished quickly, but heavy smoke was present inside Unit C, police said.

The apartment building was evacuated and Francesco Bertuglia,59, of Unit C, was found dead in

the apartment, police said.

An investigation by the Glastonbury Fire Marshal’s office in cooperation with the State fire marshal’s office, the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the
Glastonbury Police Department determined the cause of the fire, and Bertuglia’s subsequent
death, to be "accidental in nature."

Residents from five units were displaced by the fire, police said.
