Welles Turner Library Fundraiser to Feature Local Cookbook Author
The fundraiser will take place at the Riverview Farm.

A local food guru and cookbook author will be the guest speaker at the annual Welles-Turner Memorial Library fundraiser this September.
Jackie Parente, author of “Can it!”, will discuss how her passion for local food and give a short cooking demonstration using local produce. Very, very local produce, as the event will take place on Glastonbury’s Riverview Farm, 489 Tryon St.
Copies of Parentes book will be available for purchase and signing.

The yearly fundraiser will feature a selection of hors d’ouevres and desserts from local caterers Ginger and Pickles, as well as seafood from City Fish Market in Wethersfield.
The Sam Parker Jazz Trio will provide music for attendees.

The event will take place at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Riverview Farm.
Admission is $100 per person; $75 is tax deductible.
