Winter Team State Championship History: Glastonbury High School

GLASTONBURY, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway across Connecticut Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the 18 CIAC winter team titles won by Glastonbury High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

• girls indoor track (7) - Class LL: 2015, 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007, 2006; State Open: 2011
• girls gymnastics (7) - Class L: 2012, 2011, 1995, 1994, 1989, 1988; State Open: 2011
• ice hockey (2) - Div. II: 2003, 1999
• wrestling (1) - Class L: 1978
• boys swimming (1) - Class L: 1975
