Working Together To Raise Mental Health Awareness

The Mixing Bowl, Seed Bagel Shop, and the Jordan Porco Foundation, working together to bring the community a pop up mental health check in

The Jordan Porco Foundation (JPF) is excited to partner with The Mixing Bowl and Seed Bagel Shop, Friday, May 28, 2021, from 10AM - 1PM, at Seed Bagel Shop, 76 Commerce St, Glastonbury, CT to bring the community a taste of JPF’s mental health Check In program, alongside decadent treats and farm-fresh food.

“It’s a beautiful day when we see more local businesses supporting our lifesaving programming, because it takes a concerted, collaborative effort to help normalize mental health conversations in our communities. A community event like this is a great to way to spotlight mental health during May which is Mental Health Awareness Month, and then use this event’s positive energy as a catalyst to taking action throughout the year,” said Marisa Giarnella-Porco-Porco, Co-Founder and President of the Jordan Porco Foundation.

Promoting mental health is important to The Mixing Bowl and Seed Bagel Shop who organized this event for their community.

“For so long, either no one talked about mental health, or they mentioned it with a negative connotation. Over the years, more conversations have taken place to share what mental health is and how we can do better to take care of our minds. The more we talk about it, the more it allows for people to discuss it, encouraging them to get the help that they need. After last year, we need these resources more than ever, and I could not wait to join forces with the Jordan Porco Foundation to shed more light on these topics and raise money to continue providing resources and tools for others,” said Julie Buonanno, Owner of The Mixing Bowl.

Visitors will be given a passport to travel through engaging mental health activities, and other destinations, all as part of this unique pop up event.
