Dear Patch Readers,
I had a few days off around the 4th of July, and our family did a "staycation." I realized we had such a great few days together, and we ended up doing a lot of the things we do while on vacation. We did Tod's Point for the fireworks, and it is tough to not feel you live in a really special place when you are at Tod's. We had great dining experiences while going Gabriele's one night, and then this weekend we went to Char. As a town we have the incredible shopping of Greenwich Avenue, with unbelievable restaurants, and incredible beaches. It got me thinking of the incredible aspects of this town that I sometimes take for granted. I tend to focus the blog on the analytical aspects of the market. I thought it would be nice to do a blog entry of the positives of Greenwich.
To that end, here are a few great things about Greenwich that have been named in the press or just parts of the town I take advantage of.
Just a few weeks ago Greenwich was named the top place to raise a child in the country. Quite a feat:

Just a few weeks ago was an annual camping trip that one of the dad's at my twin's school does. Where we take a ferry out to Captain's Island or Island beach and camp for the night. It is something I look forward to every year. Unfortunately, I was laid up this year and could not make it. However, this is one of the best things to do with the kids:
