The Greenwich resident has purchased the "Bird House," which was owned by the late Dorrance Hill Hamilton.

NEWPORT, RI — Greenwich resident and daytime television star "Judge Judy" Sheindlin has purchased the beautiful Newport, RI estate, known as the "Bird House," for $9 million, reports the Newport Daily News.

The famous estate had been listed for $10.9 million, according to Gustave White Sotheby's International Realty, and had been on the market for nearly a year. It was owned by the late Dorrance Hill Hamilton, whose grandfather invented the condensing process for Campbell's Soups, the publication writes.

Measuring 9,719 square feet, the home rests on 3.67 acres atop one of Newport's highest points. It was built in 2012 and features a geothermal heating and cooling system, "soaring two story entrance hall and living room" and a host of "top-of-the-line amenities."

It also has an elevator, two-story "floor to ceiling stone fireplace" and radiant heated floors.
