3 Injured In Groton Head-On Crash

Three people were injured in a crash on Gold Star Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

GROTON, CT — A two-car crash in Groton Tuesday afternoon resulted in three injuries, according to police. Emergency services received several calls at 3:18 p.m. reporting a wreck on Gold Star Highway.

According to police, a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling eastbound on Route 184 west of the intersection of Flanders Road and a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling westbound on Route 184 in the same area. The two cars crashed head on.

The driver of the Hyundai was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital via ambulance and then by LifeStar Hospital to Hartford Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge and a passenger were transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained.

The crash remains under investigation.
