MYSTIC, CT- Looking for an adventure to do with friends and family? Adventure Mystic LLC -Paddle Mystic offers an experience that energizes the body and relaxes the mind. A recent group lesson with owner, Jeffrey Jodoin, uncovered the missing element to local tourism; a fun, sight-seeing opportunity of the charming Mystic River, all from a Stand Up Paddle Board.
Stand Up Paddling has increased in popularity due to its health benefits. Out on the water, Jodoin explained the importance of using your core stabilization muscles to maintain your balance. He paddled alongside, offering both paddle boarding techniques and an informative tour of the buildings and businesses within view.
As my comfort level increased, I transitioned from the initial kneeling position to standing upright on the board. Jodoin's easygoing personality eased any nerves as he smoothly demonstrated the correct techniques. The relaxing sounds of the water and the rhythm of the oar were exhilarating.
