City Of Groton Will Place Parking Ban In Response To The Upcoming Severe Winter Storm

The parking ban will begin on Wednesday (12/16) at 6 PM and end Thursday (12/17) at 6 PM. No vehicle of any kind is permitted to be parked on City of Groton streets during this time. Forecasts call for our region to receive significant snowfall and this will allow our Highway Department to clear the snow from our roadways. We are also expecting strong coastal winds which could result in sporadic power outages. Please prepare for this event and ensure vehicles are not in violation of this ban. The inconvenience is temporary and it allows rapid removal of snow from our roads. If the forecast holds up this will no doubt be a significant coastal storm.
