Come To Touch-a-truck For The New Project Of The E.L. Aux. Of Child & Family Agency

At Touch-a-Truck- cherished recipes available

Participants in Touch-A-Truck will be delighted to be able to examine and purchase a new cookbook- the new project which the E.L. Auxiliary has adopted. The purpose of the E.L. Aux. of the Child & Family Agency is to support the Agency in their many projects to assist children and families in need of services in mental health and physical healthcare, child abuse prevention, the treatment of family violence, teen pregnancy, childcare, children’s safety and accident prevention, and parent education.

The latest project of the E.L. Auxiliary to help maintain these programs is a Cookbook-Palette Pleasers. Judi Mitchell, who had previously had experience in Maryland with printing such a book, suggested this project. Subsequently, Judi agreed to compile this book, all profits of which will benefit children and families of Southeastern Connecticut.

When Judi asked the members of the E.L. Aux. for possible suggestions as to the title of the book., Jayne Coale suggested the favored entry-Palate Pleasers. The book contains 320 recipes from The Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut, Inc., Auxiliary members, Staff, and Board Members. It was a project embraced by the entire Agency and the many Auxiliary members throughout the region.

Cookbooks like Palate Pleasers will tell historians about the favorite foods of families at the beginning of the 21st Century. However, more importantly, they help us to connect to our past. Many of us have been lucky enough to have inherited boxes of faded recipes or well-worn notebooks-treasures which serve as memories of families and friends. Recipes are like poems; they demonstrate what has sustained us through the years. Don’t miss this chance to purchase a cookbook which will not only bring joy to you but also bring support to children and families in Southeastern Connecticut.
