Daily Five: School Board To Discuss Investigative Report on Kadri Tonight

Five Things To Know, Thursday, Aug. 30

1.  Today is Thursday, Aug. 30.  The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature of 78 degrees. The low will fall to 65 tonight.

2.  The Groton Board of Education will hold an executive session from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today to discuss the investigative report into the conduct and behavior of Superintendent Paul Kadri, who was placed on paid administrative leave in May. In the report, released Monday, . On Tuesday, , saying the allegations are untrue.

3.  Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday at the base's new $11 million indoor small arms range. Capt. Marc Denno, commanding officer at the sub base, will be among the speakers. The event is closed to the public.  A firm from Lowell, Mass., was the main contractor on the project.

4.  is taking part in two new collaborations this fall, according to its monthly report. The first is a book discussion group with the public schools that will deal with education-related topics such as bullying. The second is a program on democracy and non-violence that will be done in partnership with the University of Connecticut-Avery Point.
