Electric Boat Criticized For Continuing Operations During Virus
Some employees of the Groton submarine manufacturer said that the company needs to prioritize the health of its employees.
GROTON, CT — Employees of Electric Boat are criticizing the submarine manufacturer for remaining open during the spread of coronavirus, The New London Day reported. Employees said that the company is failing to protect the health of its thousands of workers by having them show up for work.
State and federal guidelines state that gatherings of 50 or more people should be banned in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Electric Boat responded in a statement that the company has taken "all government-recommended measures to mitigate the spread of the disease," according to The Day.
