Fairview’s Art of Chocolate Serves Up Another Successful Year
Fairview's Art of Chocolate was another success this year as chocolate lovers filled the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton.

GROTON, CT — Fairview's Art of Chocolate, presented by Groton Utilities was another success this year despite rainy weather Sunday as chocolate lovers filled the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa. With 11 vendors in attendance, guests were able to satisfy their sweet tooth and try all things chocolate.
Music was provided by Marcy and Izzy of Sugarfree, and mini spa services from Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa were available, according to a release.
This year’s chocolate tasting extravaganza featured Carlo’s Bake Shop at Mohegan Sun, East Coast Catering, Fairview, Odd Fellows Home of CT, Flanagan's at Best Western Olympic Inn, Gourmet Galley Catering, The Garden Grille at Hilton Garden Inn, Grille 92 at Fairview, Harbour House Restaurant & Bar, The Mystic Boathouse, Octagon at Mystic Marriott and Pop On the Block—Gourmet Popcorn.

They served items such as Chocolate Strawberry Fudge Cake, Assortment of Chocolate Cookies, Chocolate Buttercream Cupcake with Candied Bacon, Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake Cup, White Chocolate Lemon Truffles, Petit Fours, Chocolate Brownies, Chocolate Souffle Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich, Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bacon Skewers with Hazelnuts, Decadent Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Mousse, Boathouse Chocolate Mousse, Red Wine Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Dipped Donut with Candied Bacon and White Drizzle, Mini Triple Chocolate Baileys Cupcake and a variety of Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn.
Guest judges this year included; Pebbles of the Morning Show on Jammin 107.7, General Manager at Mystic Marriott Brian Hunt and RE/MAX Real Estate Agent and new Groton Town Council member Lian Obrey.

These three judges teamed up to select their favorite chocolate items and gave out five awards:
- Judge’s Choice went to Fairview
- Runner Up for Judges Choice went to the Gourmet Galley Catering
- Most Creative Use of Chocolate went to Flanagan’s at Best Western Olympic Inn
- Most Savory was awarded to The Bistro
- Best Display was awarded to Octagon at Mystic Marriott.
In addition to the awards given out by the guest judges, Grille 92 won first in the People’s Choice category, the Mystic Boathouse won second and Octagon at Mystic Marriott won third.

The proceeds from this successful fundraiser will help support the Bistro Café renovation at Fairview, as well as Fairview’s unrestricted annual fund.
