Groton Municipal Meetings
Monday: Town Hall is closed to observe Labor Day.
Tuesday: The Board of Education Policy Committee meets at 5:30 in the Administration Office, Room 19; the Water Pollution Control Authority meets in Town Hall Annex at 6:30 p.m.; the Historic District Commission meets in the Town Hall Annex at 7 p.m.; the Town Council meets in the Town Hall Annex at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday: The Board of Assessment Appeals meets in the Town Hall Finance Dept. Conference Room at 4:30 p.m.; The Town and City Councils/Board of Education/RTM Liaison Committee Special Meeting is in the Administrative Office Rom11 at 5:30 p.m.; Groton Parks Foundation meets at the Spicer House at 6:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. the Copp Family Park Board of Overseers meet at the Spicer House, the GLP Board of Directors and Zoning Commission meet at the GLP Meeting Room, the Republican Town Committee and the Zoning Commission meet in the Town Hall Annex.
Thursday: The Economic Development Commission meets in the Town Hall Annex at 4:30 p.m. and the RTM Community Development and Services Committee has a special meeting in the Town Hall Annex at 7 p.m.

Just for Fun
Monday: Happy Labor Day!
Tuesday: Birthday and Anniversary celebration from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Groton Senior Center. Show up and celebrate those who have a birthday or anniversary this month, there’s free entertainment and dessert.
Wednesday: The Groton Public Library wants to show you how to get product ratings and reviews, in-depth advice, tips and trends written by Consumer Reports experts. The free demo starts at 3 p.m.Â
Thursday: Want to play roller derby? Are you interested in being a referee? Thinking about volunteering? Come early learn the skills you'll need to be a skater and get information on being a referee or volunteer tonight. This year the Shoreline Roller Derby is recruiting 18+ but to skate or ref you must have health insurance.Â
Practices for fresh meat start September 5 and go from 8:30pm-10:30pm at Galaxy Roller Rink. Practices are $10 or $45 for the whole month. Skates will be available to rent from Galaxy for $5. Protective gear (helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads) is available on a first come, first served basis. Bring your own mouth guard. Email recruiting.slrd@gmail.com with further questions.Â
Friday: The Taste of Mystic begins today! Join hundreds of hungry people down on Cottrell Street for samples of appetizers, entrees and desserts served by the area’s favorite restaurants. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and continues through the weekend.Â
