Five things to know on Wednesday, August 7.

- Today's going to be pretty nice although kinda more like fall than summer. The National Weather Services says today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 74 and there's a slight chance of showers tonight and if not, you can expect a low around 66.
- Catch the Farmer’s Market today! It’s at the Groton Shopping Plaza (next to the post office) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. WIC FMNP Coupons, WIC Fruit & Veg Coupons and Seniors Coupons are accepted.
- Author and professor Glenn Gordinier will present an illustrated talk on Mystic and the War of 1812 at the Groton Public Library from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
- Saturday is the last day to record Summer Reading and play the game at Bill Memorial Library, don’t miss out on your chance!
- The Town & City Council/BOE/RTM Liaison Committee meets at 6 p.m. tonight, the Groton Long Point Association - Board of Directors and Zoning Commission meets at 7 p.m. tonight and so does the Zoning Commission.
