Groton Farmer’s Market, The War of 1812 and it's Time to Tally Those Summer Reading Points.

Five things to know on Wednesday, August 7.

  1. Today's going to be pretty nice although kinda more like fall than summer. The National Weather Services says today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 74 and there's a slight chance of showers tonight and if not, you can expect a low around 66.
  2. Catch the Farmer’s Market today! It’s at the Groton Shopping Plaza (next to the post office) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. WIC FMNP Coupons, WIC Fruit & Veg Coupons and Seniors Coupons are accepted.
  3. Author and professor Glenn Gordinier will present an illustrated talk on Mystic and the War of 1812 at the Groton Public Library from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
  4. Saturday is the last day to record Summer Reading and play the game at Bill Memorial Library, don’t miss out on your chance!
  5. The Town & City Council/BOE/RTM Liaison Committee meets at 6 p.m. tonight, the Groton Long Point Association - Board of Directors and Zoning Commission meets at 7 p.m. tonight and so does the Zoning Commission.
