GROTON, CT — A Groton nursing home and specialty care facility in Uncasville have been fined by the state Department of Public Health for violating regulations, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.

Groton Regency Center faces $10,000 in fines on several violations. One incident involved a resident suffering leg burns and pneumonia after falling out of bed near a baseboard radiator.

Orchard Grove Specialty Care in Uncasville has been fined $9480 for a resident who was injured during an improper transport. An aide was moving the resident from a bed to a wheelchair when the resident suffered a leg laceration that required nine sutures, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.
