Groton Police Arrest Three in Drug Bust After Anonymous Call

Police seize $4,000 in cash and 130 pills packaged for sale

Groton police arrested three local men and seized more than $4,000 in cash and 130 Oxycodone pills after getting an anonymous call about suspicious activity in a parking lot on Buddington Road.

At about 3 p.m. on Friday, someone called Groton police about activity in the parking lot at 68 Buddington Road, according to a police department news release.

Officers responded to the parking lot and looked for cars based on the description by the caller.

They investigated and found thousands in cash and more than 130 pills packaged in various amounts for sale. They arrested and charged three Groton men.

Sean P. Connolly, 20, of 301 Buddington Road, Lot #41, was charged with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, having a controlled substance not in its original container, possession of drug paraphernalia, disobeying an officers signal, driving a motor vehicle under suspension, failure to use turn signal and failure to drive right, the news release said.

He is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Arthur Anderson, 24, of 43 Division St., Groton, was charged with possession of narcotics, having a controlled substance not in its original container, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and interfering with an officer, police said.

He is being held on a $10,000 bond.

William Drakos, 26, of 372 West Shore Avenue, Groton, was charged with criminal attempt to possess a controlled substance, police said. His bond was set at $5,000.
