Groton Start-Up Changing the Definition of Outsourced
Local Groton Start-Up DIGISIST is redefining the term 'outsourced' for area businesses in an amazing way.

GROTON, CT – In almost every instance when the average person hears the term ‘outsourced’ they immediately think of sending jobs overseas. That is not the case any longer with DIGISIST, LLC. The company is an outsourced office management company with a plethora of resources made available to small and mid-size businesses that normally would not be able to afford them.
Christopher M. Calkins Jr. started this company in May of this year when he found a need for a more affordable way for small to mid size businesses to have the full services of a full-time office staff but at a significantly lower price point. Calkins is now operating his business out of Matthew Longino’s office doubling as his Executive Assistant while also building his new business and taking care of his existing clients.
Calkins recently said, “The beauty of the business is that although each client has very different needs, I have made it so I am able to take care of them from one desk – mine. Each task is accomplished securely through email, telephone and hosted software solutions that are easy to use and understand.” DIGISIST offers bookkeeping, answering services, PR/Marketing solutions, GPS Fleet Management and VoIP Business Phone Systems. That list continues to grow and the company’s clients needs continue to grow.

Calkins also stated that, “The reason that I truly felt this was my calling was when I found that everyone always came to me to find out how to accomplish a variety of different tasks. I finally came to a point where I knew I could offer my services to more than just friends and also make an income doing it.”
Calkins is also an active member of the Groton Republican Town Committee and the Greater-Mystic Chamber of Commerce. He also regularly volunteers his time to local groups such as March of Dimes and the Riverfront Children’s Center when his schedule allows.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed. Very recently he was named one of this years 40 Under Forty by three of the areas local Chamber of Commerce’s. The award is given to “recognize 40 of the best and brightest individuals in our community under 40 years of age who have consistently demonstrated excellence in their profession, as well as leadership, commitment, and service to the region,” according the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce website.
