Happy Mother’s Day From Rachel Barnhill

"You stepped up and took in a young girl like she was your own, no questions asked."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Rachel Barnhill's letter to her mom:

Mom,

You saved my life. You stepped up and took in a young girl like she was your own, no questions asked. You've loved me like it's been you and I all along. Not only are you my mom, you are my best friend. I will always be grateful for you. So today and everyday I celebrate you — the most amazing, selfless and incredible woman I've ever known. Happy Mother's Day! I love you!

Love,
Rachel

My mom is the greatest woman I've ever known. She's a breast cancer survivor, and through all of it she took care of everyone else. She listened and helped me when I needed it. She's honestly just the best out there.
