Heavy Traffic On I-95 To Continue In Groton During Repairs

State police said work on downed power wires will require highway shut downs on an alternating basis.

GROTON, CT - Drivers should expect to see significant traffic on I-95 as northbound and southbound lanes will be closed on an alternate basis. State police said the closures will be one hour for each side at exit 88 south and exit 87 north.

Exit 88 currently has two lanes closed. Suggested alternate routes are routes 1 and 184.

The highway was closed in between exits 87 and 88 in both directions earlier Tuesday morning due to down power lines, WFSB reported.
