Monday: Tracy Burrell, Master Gardener from the County Extension Office, will speak on composting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Groton Public Library. Discover the art and science of composting, become familiar with the techniques for creating and maintaining backyard composting systems and understand the benefit of making compost.
Tuesday: At 7 p.m., the Groton Public Library will host a panel on estate planning and help identify the various types of estate assets as well as examine the types of ownership and their significance. Estate planning documents such as a Will, a Living Will, Powers of Attorney and Attorney for Health Care will be discussed, including their purpose and their place in estate planning.
Wednesday: Bring your 3 to 5 year old to Bill Memorial Library’s Fabulous Fall StoryTime, which features classic stories as well as new favorites, song time with live music, finger plays, and simple crafts. Registration is necessary; for more information or to register please stop by the library or call 445-0392.
Thursday: Sign up for a seat to hear an inspirational speaker Eileen Kaplan, author of “Laughter is the Breast Medicine” at The Pink Mermaid at 1 p.m. today. She has spoken with humor and heart on making the lifestyle changes necessary for coping with cancer. Her speeches are always upbeat and enlightening about her personal journey as a "Survivor Thriver". Register by calling 860-865-0825.
Friday: Tonight’s the opening night of Groton Regional Theatre’s production of Harvey by Mary Chase. GRT says the play is a, “ delightful 1940s classic about Elwood P. Dowd, an amiable middle-aged man whose favorite pastime is drinking in bars with his best friend. This sounds perfectly normal—until one considers that his best friend is a six-plus-foot-tall invisible rabbit named Harvey…” Tickets are $12, performance is at 8 p.m. at the Groton Senior Center.
