Man Bites Groton Police Officer While Resisting Arrest: PD

A man driving a stolen car is accused of biting a police officer.

GROTON, CT — A man police pursued for driving a stolen a car is accused of a biting an officer while resisting arrest, according to police. Maciej Baczek, 27, of LKA 101 Suomi Street in Paxton, MA, was charged with second-degree larceny, assault on a police officer, and interfering with a police officer.

City of Groton police responded to a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle on Ledyard Avenue. Police found Baczek driving a Toyota Camry that was stolen out of Massachusetts.

While attempting to arrest Baczek, he bit an officer, according to police.

City of Groton police are working with the Webster police department in investigating a string of thefts in that city.

The officer received medical treated and has returned to duty.

Investigation is continuing and more arrests are anticipated. Our Detective division is actively working the case with Webster Ma. Police. Our Officer is back to work today and no injury to the accused.
