Coronavirus: Mass Layoffs At Groton Business
A Groton business says it will lay off dozens of workers.

GROTON, CT — PCC Structurals LLC will lay off 71 workers due to the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic, according to documents filed with the state Department of Labor. The Portland, Oregon-based company specializes in providing superalloy, aluminum, and titanium investment castings primarily for industrial gas turbines and other energy applications.
PCC has several locations across the U.S. and overseas.
Company officials said in the documents that layoffs are due to a "dramatic downturn in business caused by the coronavirus natural disaster, and specifically our unprecedented reduction in our sales projection as well as cancellation of existing orders."
