Obituary: Deborah Ann DeWolf, 49, Of Groton

She was always trying to help others and quite often would take in friends in need of help.

Deborah Ann DeWolf, 49, of Groton passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2019 after a brief illness. Born November 20, 1969 In Wembley, England the daughter of the Michael K. Johnston and Marilyn (Tomich) DeWolf and she grew up in Groton, CT.

Debbie graduated from Ella T. Grasso Technical High School in 1987. After high school she completed a certificate program at Grasso Tech in Drafting.

Debbie was kind and caring, she “marched to her own drummer” and she loved to have fun and relax in her pool. She was always trying to help others and quite often would take in friends in need of help. She was employed by Electric Boat in Groton as an Electrical Designer for many years.

Debbie is survived by her parents Marilyn and Arthur DeWolf of Groton, her sons Arthur F. Anderson and Kenneth R. Smith III both of Groton. She is also survived by a sister Barbara White (Kevin) of New London and nephews Kyle White and Brandon White and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs Trey, Reacie and Lou Lou. Debbie was predeceased by her father Michael K. Johnston, maternal grandparents Samuel J. and Elvira C. (Carbery) Tomich, paternal grandparents Lowell and Louise Johnston and Almond and Geraldine DeWolf.

Visitation: Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Byles Groton Memorial Home (310 Thames Street, Groton). A Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church (56 Sacred Heart Drive, Groton).
