Police Hosting Annual Stuff-A-Cruiser Event In Groton

Santa Claus has indicated he will stop by to assist with collection efforts during the department's annual "Stuff a Cruiser" event.

GROTON, CT — The City of Groton Police Department will hold their annual "Stuff a Cruiser" holiday event, as well as a food drive and coat drive, on Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City of Groton Municipal Building, located at 295 Meridian Street.

Police said on Facebook the department will once again stuff a police cruiser with toys to distribute to local children to ensure all have a joyous holiday season.

"We will have the City of Groton Police Pickup on hand to collect items for a food drive for local food pantries to meet the need of the food endangered locally," police said on Facebook. "Also on hand at this event to assist with the collection efforts will be the City of Groton Police Cadets. Santa Claus has indicated he will stop by to assist with collection efforts during the event. His arrival time is being coordinated with his staff at the North Pole and will be announced later."

Police will be collaborating with St. John’s Christian Church of Groton to conduct a coat drive in order to ensure all are warm during the coming winter months. New and gently used coats are welcome and will be made available later to those in need.

City of Groton police officers will host this family-friendly event and look forward to sharing in the holiday spirit by working with the community to meet the needs of others.
